WINNER OF THE HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERERSEN HONORARY AWARD 2019!
The 5 Paper Clips" (2018), transformed an unprecedented variation of H.C. Andersen's themes and in a mix of genres, dance and movement, music and sound. The 5 Paper Clips" became a performance that challenged all our senses and brought some of H.C. Andersen's always thought-provoking ideas alive in a mildly updated expression.
It testifies to Mette-Louise and Jesper Kryger' special empathy in H.C. Andersen's poetic universe, that his - and our - adventures, human experiences and realizations hit so strongly in "The 5 Paper Clips" in the middle of a wild sense bombardment with ballet shoes and hoverboards, real "Paper clips and high-tech visuals!
It is H.C. Andersen Committee's view that all this was a result of Pivot's strong artistic ability and a long-standing series of dance productions with modern interpretations by H.C. Andersen both at home and abroad.
It is quite understandable that they have also been used as an official artistic representation for Denmark and for some of the prime ones Denmark has to offer: H.C. Andersen.
Therefore I congratulate Pivot with the H.C. Andersen honorary award 2019!
